Edo State has not shown seriousness in tackling flooding, filth-Chief Patrick Eholor

Global President of One Love Foundation, Chief Patrick Osagie Eholor has lambasted Governor Godwin Obaseki over the sorry state of major streets in Benin City.Eholor stated this in an interview with journalists while reacting to photographs and video of residents either swimming or stuck in water or struggling to wade through water as the rains turns Benin City into a lagoon.According to him, the sorry state of Benin City is largely due to the leadership failure of Governor Godwin Obaseki.He said; “Benin City under Obaseki is submerged with flood anytime it rains and becomes submerged with filth without the rain.“You’re lucky to be in a Nation where citizens comes first unparalleled to Nigeria. Godwin Obaseki is very busy wrapped up with building his empire. He has no sense of governance. He has no political hygiene like many others of his category.“Penultimate week, the social media was abuzz with photographs and video of residents either swimming or stuck in water or struggling to wade through water as the rains turns Benin City into lagoon.“This is another ugly side of the emerging Edo State under Obaseki. Edo is submerged by filth with people wading through to get to their destination. What will happen when the next rain falls? Only God knows.“Benin City today is in a total mess today with flooding and filth stenching from all quarters. It is unfortunate this is happening under Godwin Obaseki. A state without Commissioners and functional legislative arm.“From Ring road through to Sakponba, Mission road, New Benin etc the city is finished with debris of trash all over as a result of flooding and failure of Governor Godwin Obaseki.“The governor doesn’t care because the lives of Edo people don’t matter to him and his cronies. It is so sad and unfortunate that since the coming of Obaseki all other tiers of Government has gone to sleep in Edo State.“Our state is without direction and governed without purpose. Obaseki is a massive failure and I’m not surprised with his abysmal performance.”It is sad at this point that he has resorted to intimidating his people with Covid-19 vaccine, threatening everybody to be vaccinated when he cannot fix the little things that matters. When he cannot build and equip our hospitals, fix our roads, give us good and portable water and employ our youths.”
