Fubara’s September Return: Abuja Turns Rivers Into Political Colony, Reduces Governor to Rubber Stamp

…Tinubu and Wike accused of hijacking Rivers treasury, strangling democracy, and humiliating a sitting governor

What is unfolding in Rivers State is nothing short of political slavery. Governor Siminalayi Fubara, set to return on September 18, has been stripped naked of power, reduced to a mere ceremonial figure while Abuja and Wike tighten their grip on the soul of Rivers.

Jungle-Journalist.Com can authoritatively report that the so-called “peace deal” struck by President Bola Tinubu was nothing but a backroom coup. Fubara will no longer control the legislature, the local governments, or even his own commissioners. Instead, lists will be drawn up in Abuja and handed to him like orders from a colonial master.

The APC has already stormed Rivers like conquerors, seizing 20 out of 23 local government seats. And now, with the Rivers treasury effectively under federal lock and key, the people are left as powerless spectators while their destiny is auctioned off.

This is not democracy — it is political hostage-taking. It is the open humiliation of a sitting governor before his people. It is the brazen message that godfathers and federal cabals, not the ballot, decide who governs.

Analysts who spoke with Jungle-Journalist.Com insist that what is happening in Rivers is a dangerous precedent. “If Abuja can so brazenly hijack a state and reduce an elected governor to a rubber stamp, then no state in Nigeria is safe,” one political observer warned.

Tinubu brokers peace between Wike and Fubara, to reinstate Gov — but on one condition

Rivers people must ask themselves hard questions: Will they watch silently as their resources are siphoned to Abuja while their governor signs papers he did not draft? Will they accept a state reduced to the private estate of Wike and his new paymasters?

Nigeria’s democracy is bleeding in Rivers. What is at stake is not just Fubara’s career but the right of a people to determine their own future. The shackles have been fastened — but Rivers must now decide whether to wear them meekly or break them with fury.
