R-L: IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu and MASSOB leader, Uchenna Madu

Leadership of the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) led by Comrade Uchenna Madu has condemned the criminal and violent actions of miscreants in the guise of pro Biafra agitators.

MASSOB said in a statement made available to Jungle Journalist Media Limited that these undesirable elements have taken a heavy toll of havoc and atrocities on South East Nigeria, using the Mondays sit-at-home as their landing ground.

In the statement, which was signed by Comrade Samuel Edeson, the National Director of Information for MASSOB, the group said it can no longer watch these criminals destroying the businesses and economy of Ndigbo in the name of sit at home exercise.

“Sit-at-Home is no longer acceptable to MASSOB”, it stated.

The statement read further “Starting from Monday, 4th of April 2022, (today) there will be no more sit-at-home exercise for the people of Biafra. The weekly sit at home exercise have inflicted uncountable economic injuries to Ndigbo. It is an excersice in futility. The weekly sit at home exercises are no longer for Biafra actualization and restoration, it is setting the struggle backward.

“MASSOB is asking governors of South East region to remove any market chairman or tricycle union chairman or National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) chairman or any other chairman of commercial unions that continue complying with the Monday sit-at-home exercises.

“MASSOB will continue to propagate and upholds the interest of Ndigbo in Nigeria. We shall not relent in speaking out against the factors that militate and oppose the general interest of Ndigbo in Nigeria. Ndigbo are facing a serious and critical dispossession in Nigeria.

“Pro Biafra agitators must avoid anything that derails the political, economical and social interest of Ndigbo while in Nigeria.

“MASSOB also advises those using the name of IPOB to cause havoc in Igbo land to stay away from entire Biafra land or face the wrath of Ndigbo and MASSOB.

“It is clear that our enemies are using the name of IPOB and Biafra to destroy Igbo land. There is no genuine Biafra agitators including IPOB that will ever involve himself in criminal activities.

“MASSOB security intelligence report shows that the perpetrators of these tension in Igbo land are being deluded by some external elements that their violent activities will achieve Biafra.

“These hoodlums who went about setting vehicles ablaze, killing and destroying the economy of Ndigbo are nothing but criminals being sponsored and backed by some elements to destroy Igbo land but they will never succeed.

“MASSOB urge Igbo leaders to stop blaming IPOB and other pro-Biafra agitators as the perpetrators of the criminal acts.

“MASSOB assures the sponsors and perpetrators of these violent and criminal activities in Igbo land that they will never succeed in destroying Igbo land because MASSOB and other Pro-Biafra groups will always protect Biafra land”, the statement read.
