The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has kicked against the alleged payment of 6 billion Naira by the Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, as compensation for the lynched Northern hunters in the Uromi area of Edo State.
To this end, the group called on him to resign, saying that his action has exposed his weakness to the Fulani Caliphate.
IPOB in a statement on Monday by its Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, wondered why the compensation was made despite the devastation caused by Fulani terrorists overtime in the farms and communities, leaving thousands of indigenous people, including the Edo community, for years without any reparations.
It accused the governor of handing over several Edo Vigilantees to the Fulani authorities to be killed in a bid to satisfy his Fulani overlords.
The statement partly reads: “The reckless behavior of Governor Monday Ekpebholo from Edo State has shown the Fulanis that he is not just a coward but also a useful pawn of the Caliphate.
“Unfortunately, his cowardly actions have revealed his failure to protect his citizens. His disgraceful behavior has put the safety and security of Edo State residents at risk.
“He has signaled the Fulani terrorists to invade and seize control of Edo State. In order to protect Edo State from the looming Fulani terrorist threat, IPOB is urging all concerned Edo citizens to call for the resignation of Governor Monday Ekpebholo.”
IPOB urged Southern Governors as well Middle Belt governors to have the bravery to protect its people from the Fulani conquest plan, saying, “They must cease being cowards and instead stand like men with courage in defending their people’s constitutional rights.
“The apprehension towards Fulanis must be overcome. IPOB has effectively dispelled the fear of Fulanis. The Fulanis are merely a cruel and bloodthirsty group that employs terrorism and Fulanization.
“The fear of the Fulanis must be overcome. IPOB has effectively dispelled the anxiety surrounding Fulanis. The Fulanis are merely a ruthless and bloodthirsty group that employs terrorism and the Fulanization agenda to intimidate individuals into compliance.
“Nonetheless, if you hold your position and confront them with equal intensity, they will back down and yield. It is crucial for Southern politicians and leaders, along with Middle Belt leaders, to step up and equip their youth to confront the terrorists with equal force.
“Bargaining and providing payments to the terrorists and their backers will encourage them to seize more of your territory. For the countless individuals killed in the South, and the 200 people who were slaughtered and brutally murdered in Edo State, how many of them received compensation from Fulani leaders?
“We are aware that certain Northern sponsors of terrorism are threatening to assault and murder Ndigbo in the North as revenge for the Edo lynching of alleged Hausa hunters; IPOB remains ready for them to strike any Igbo individual in the North. IPOB will not engage in negotiations with the criminals who are threatening us. However, we can guarantee them that they will face equivalent consequences for every act of violence inflicted on Ndigbo. Violence is not owned by any one group. We couldn’t care less about their ridiculous threats.
“Once more, IPOB globally disapproves of the 6 billion Naira compensation from Edo’s allocation for the human hunters pursued by the angry mob, along with sacrificing 16 Uromi Vigilantes to placate the Caliphate.
“The Governor of Edo State must step down as he has effectively sold Edo State to the Fulani Caliphate.”
