The appointments of Prince (Engr) Lawrence O. Ezeh, Dr. Martins Chukwunwike as some of the new Commissioners in Enugu State, whose swearing- in ceremony took place on Thursday, 10th August, 2023 at Government House, Enugu, has been described as a square peg in a square hole, and as what would further impact on the developmental strides in the State.
This is contained in a congratulatory message by the Peter Mbah Ambassadors For Good Governance, one of the foremost support groups for Barr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah during the gubernatorial election of 2023.
Engr Lawrence Ezeh, Honourable Commissioner for Lands and Urban Development, Enugu State.In its message, the group’s Director General, Mr. Ifebuchi Chime through the Media Department said that, “the appointment of Prince (Engr) Lawrence Ezeh, as Commissioner of Lands and Urban Development and Dr. Martins Chukwunwike as Commissioner For Housing by the Executive Governor, Barr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, is coming at a time when the government machinery needs to be re-energised, re-invigorated, rejuvenated and further re-directed towards better performance and delivery of dividends of democracy.”
The group also felicitated with the new Commissioner for Local Government Affairs, Rural Development and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Deacon Okey Ogbodo and the Commissioner for Information, Mr. Aka Eze Aka, while describing them as “leaders of high repute” with emphasis that, their appointments would add value to good governance, which has been the hallmark of the Barr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah-led administration.
According to the leader of the group, “the fast nomination of Commissioners and assigning of portfolios to competent, progressive like-minded leaders like Prince Engr Lawrence Ezeh, Dr. Martins Chukwunwike, Deacon Okey Ogbodo, Mr Aka Eze Aka amongst others, in the State, shows that nobody is indispensable”.
The group which eloquently appreciated the Executive Governor of the State, Barr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah for bringing technocrats, engineers, medical experts and Information gurus into his administration maintained that, they are known for their rich and varied wealth of experience as seasoned professionals and politicians of high pedigree who have always placed service above personal and selfish interests.
However, Mr. Chime, on behalf of the Group, thanked Barr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah for the quality of the appointments and his dogged focus and commitment to develop the land and her people despite all odds
He therefore, “enjoins the people of Enugu State to support their respective Commissioners’ designates in order to enable them succeed in their new offices.
He further wished all the appointees well and prayed God to grant them wisdom to excel in their various positions.
