A strong coalition of non-indigenes in Enugu State under the Abia, Anambra, Imo, Delta, and Ebonyi Indigenes in Enugu (AAIDE) has declared total support for Governor Peter Mbah’s defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC). The group said the decision represents unity, progress, and inclusive growth, marking why Non-Indigenes Back Mbah’s Defection across Enugu.

AAIDE Endorses Mbah’s Political Alignment

At an extensive meeting held at Morehouse, Enugu, the leaders of AAIDE’s five state chapters unanimously resolved to back Governor Mbah and his reform-driven administration.

In a communiqué signed by Chief Igwe U. Eke (Leader), Hon. Aduaka Anthony A. (PRO), Hon. Chidi Udo (Coordinator), and Engr. Onyi Odibe (Secretary), the group commended the governor’s vision and courage.

They described Mbah’s alignment with the APC as “a statement of hope in progress, partnership, and purposeful governance.”

Transformation and Inclusive Governance Praised

The coalition hailed Mbah’s transformation of Enugu into a model state, citing progress in infrastructure, security, job creation, and industrial revival.

They noted that his reforms have reactivated industries, empowered youths, and improved business confidence across the state.

“Our support for your movement is informed by the visible change in infrastructural growth and economic renewal under your watch,” the communiqué read.

The non-indigenes also applauded Mbah’s inclusive governance, saying it has integrated residents from other states into Enugu’s political and administrative system.

“From the start of your administration, you promised to reform the party structure and integrate non-indigenes. You have kept those promises,” the group said.

Non-Indigenes Back Mbah’s Defection Gains Momentum

Ahead of the 2027 elections, AAIDE pledged full support for Mbah’s re-election, vowing to mobilize members and affiliates statewide.

Former PDP Chairman of Enugu North LGA, Hon. Ernest Onuoha, described the defection as “a collective decision reflecting the will of Ndi Enugu and the larger Igbo community.”

He said Governor Mbah’s move connects Enugu to the national grid of opportunities and ensures greater federal presence and development.

Under Mbah’s leadership, every resident—indigene or non-indigene—“has a sense of belonging,” Onuoha added.

Integration into National Politics

The group reaffirmed its loyalty to Mbah’s administration and expressed optimism that his alliance with the APC-led federal government will fast-track Enugu’s development and deepen the state’s participation in national politics.
