The political atmosphere in Enugu State is electric as Governor Peter Ndubisi Mbah officially joins the All Progressives Congress (APC) — a move widely seen as a watershed moment in the state’s political evolution.
Reacting to the development, Princess Adaku Ogbu Aguocha, a foundation member of the APC and former senatorial candidate for Enugu East Senatorial Zone, has warmly welcomed the governor into the ruling party, describing his defection as “a dream fulfilled for all true Progressives.”
In a personally signed message made available to Jungle-Journalist.com, Princess Ogbu Aguocha expressed immense joy over the development, recalling her long-standing commitment to the party since its formative days in 2014.
“Today marks a historic and joyous moment for the great people of Enugu State and all true Progressives,” she said. “As a foundation member of the All Progressives Congress long before our first electoral victory, this moment is truly a dream fulfilled. At last, APC has a Governor in the Lion Building!”
The Nkanu-born politician, who hails from the same local government area as Governor Mbah, described his defection as the dawn of a new era for Enugu State — one that promises greater collaboration for good governance, unity, and prosperity.
“I warmly welcome my dear brother, His Excellency Barr. Peter Ndubisi Mbah, the Executive Performing Governor of Enugu State, into our great party. Together, we shall work to deepen good governance and ensure the dividends of democracy reach our people,” she stated.
Princess Adaku Ogbu Aguocha also seized the moment to rally party members across the state, calling for unity and a massive turnout at Okpara Square to celebrate the Governor’s entry into the APC.
“I congratulate all party members on this defining achievement and call on everyone to unite as one strong APC family. Let us come out in our vibrant colors to receive our Governor and show the strength and solidarity of our Progressive family,” she urged.
While appealing for harmony within party ranks, she stressed that factions were counterproductive, emphasizing the need to support the existing leadership structure.
“Unity is power. I therefore urge all members, new and old, to support the Caretaker Committee led by Dr. Ben Nwoye, as duly constituted by our National Working Committee under the leadership of His Excellency Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, until the congresses are concluded,” she added.
Princess Ogbu Aguocha concluded by reaffirming her commitment to building a united, forward-looking APC capable of delivering inclusive development and the true dividends of democracy to Enugu people.
“Together, let us move forward, stronger, united, and focused on delivering the dividends of democracy to the great people of Enugu State,” she said.
